Painting "Force of Nature"

Painting "Force of Nature"

I'm so proud to introduce my newest finished painting, "Force of Nature".
When I unwrapped this 48" x 60" canvas (the largest scale I'd worked on) I didn't have a clue what to paint. I only felt the urge to paint a woman, surrounded by nature, firm in her stance and determined to charge forward, despite the hurdles along her path.
I wanted wildlife behind her, beside her, guiding, guarding, prowling. A symbol of protection, guidance, and intuition.
As if she's channeling them, the invisible force that is ever-present behind her every step, whispering Keep going. We are always with you.
Throughout history, women have often been overlooked. Expected to support, but rarely seen to lead.
Today, more and more women are stepping into their own power. Rising, breaking barriers, taking the lead, reclaiming space they've always deserved.
So, I got to work. I put together a reference image, careful and intentional with the placements of my subjects, and began to sketch and paint.
Today I stand back, proud and grounded once more by another breakthrough piece in my art practice.
This piece is for you who are stepping into your power. For you, the leader, the dreamer, the changemaker. The wild woman who knows you were never meant to stay small.
Here's to taking up space,
